Look Cycles’ mountain bike product manager Pierre Yves-Facomprez just arrived in Hawaii for the XTERRA World Championships and sent over a few pics of his new Look 920 full suspension race rig.
The 920 was leaked earlier this year before an official debut just prior to Eurobike. It, along with a similarly sculpted hardtail, have an integrated stem design that gives the bikes an extremely swoopy, sexy appearance. After being the first person to test the final version at Cape Epic, here’s Pierre’s words about the setup for XTERRA:
“The bike is our new Look 920 black/white carbon kit. Wheels are American Classic’s new All Mountain Tubeless. The All Mountain rim model has such a good compromise between weight and width that I sometimes like slightly better to use the wide rim with a narrower tyre (in the picture: AM rim + Continental X-King Protection 2.2 2012 tubeless ready) than my XC setup (XC rim + 2.4 X-King tire). Overall the weight is slightly lower with AM + 2.2 and the tire has such a nice volume on the wide rim.”
Hit ‘more’ for the rest of the setup and a few more pics to make you wish you were on the islands…
The drivetrain is full SRAM XX, Syntace post, KCNC bar ends, Fox fork and a suspiciously blacked out rear shock. Pedals are, of course, Look Quartz.
